FEMA Releases Updates for Resilience Analysis and Planning Tool

FEMA recently released updates to its Resilience Analysis and Planning Tool (RAPT). RAPT is a free online planning tool that gives open access to powerful data and GIS mapping to help organizations and emergency managers inform strategies for emergency preparedness, response, and recovery and understand their resilience needs. The new updates for RAPT includes the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau, an updated FEMA Community Resilience Challenges Index (CRCI) binned by percentiles, and a curated add-in data layer list.

The supply of permanganate products to water and wastewater systems for use in treatment appears to have stabilized, according to an update from the EPA. In January, a fire at a permanganate product manufacturing facility in Illinois – the sole U.S. manufacturer of potassium permanganate – compromised domestic production capacity.
