Swatting Growing More Common, Automated, and Targeting Organizations Over Individuals

The Domestic Preparedness Journal has written an article discussing how organizations can combat swatting, or the use of prank calls to bring law enforcement such at SWAT teams to a certain location. While historically swatting has been used to target specific individuals, the article also notes that recent data suggests the practice is expanding to target facilities and organizations, especially schools.

Iran Could Potentially Inspire Shia Homegrown Violent Extremist Attacks, According to Think Tank Report

Lone actors in the U.S. and other Western countries could be motivated by a growing network of online propagandists that promote Iran’s extremist interpretation of Islamic Shia ideology and anti-American rhetoric to conduct attacks in their home countries, according to a recent report from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

June 14, 2023 WaterISAC Informational Webinar

WaterISAC held their first Informational Webinar on June 14. The webinar provided individuals a chance to meet the WaterISAC team, hear about policy issues and cyber and physical threats facing the sector. In addition, WaterISAC team members shared member benefits, upcoming events, special programs, and tips and tricks on how to maximize the member portal.
