In 2023, federal prosecutors pursued a record number of cases of threats against public officials, according to a new study. Furthermore this week, a man in Alabama was arrested and indicted on charges that he detonated an explosive device outside the Alabama attorney general’s office in late February. With the upcoming U.S. elections, the risk of political violence in the homeland remains a serious concern and warrants enhanced vigilance amid this heightened threat environment.
