Summary: The cybersecurity threat landscape facing water and wastewater utilities is continuing to evolve with new and emerging technologies, changing threat actor methodologies, and continued geopolitical conflict all playing a role in the evolution of this complex threat environment.

Utilities have been impacted by ransomware, hacktivist, nation-state, and other threat actors, all of which are changing their methods and adapting to the current technological and geopolitical climate.

In the face of rising cybersecurity threats, water and wastewater utilities can take concrete steps to strengthen their cybersecurity and reduce cyber risk.
