EPA Increase Power Resilience at Your Water and Wastewater Utility

EPA has posted a power resilience guide and video to enable drinking water and wastewater utilities to continue operations in the event of power outages. Water utilities can increase their power resilience by improving their relationships with their electrical power providers and local emergency management agencies. As resources and funding permit, water utilities can secure generators and develop fuel management plans to maintain operations without grid power. Onsite power and energy efficiency also offer opportunities for water utilities to manage their power requirements.

Drinking water and wastewater utilities can use U.S. EPA’s Water Utility Public Awareness Kit to reach and inform their customers and communities about the value of water services. Using print, web, and TV communication methods and approaches, the kit includes an infographic poster, mailers, video, web, and print public service announcements.
