Yesterday, WaterISAC unveiled the second set of three (4-6) of its newly updated 12 Cybersecurity Fundamentals for Water and Wastewater Utilities to members. Today, we make this quarter’s fundamentals available to members only through this Security & Resilience Update. Tomorrow, they will be publicly available on our website.

At the WaterISAC Cyber Resilience Briefing yesterday, Jen Walker walked attendees through the second three of the Fundamentals and gave a high-level overview of their importance and some of the practical applications and additional considerations. Jen was joined by Dean Parsons, SANS Certified Instructor at the SANS Institute, WaterISAC’s first Platinum Champion. During the briefing, Dean publicly released another new sector-specific resource document, Protecting Critical Water Systems with the Five ICS Cybersecurity Critical Controls and announced a series of video training modules based on the document that will be available to WaterISAC members soon.
