Tomorrow: Water Sector Cyber Threat Web Briefing – IT/OT Convergence: The Good, the (not-so) Bad, and the Ugly

During WaterISAC’s Cyber Threat Briefing tomorrow, presenters from WaterISAC’s Cybersecurity Advisory Committee will discuss how poor working relationships and lack of mutual understanding between IT and OT can contribute to increased cyber risk. How would you describe the culture between IT and OT at your utility – do teams scarcely communicate, occasionally cooperate, or cohesively coexist? The presenters will share experiences and insights from all three perspectives and what worked to bring them to the collaborative environment they enjoy today. Additionally, CISA and the EPA will join WaterISAC for a brief on the joint Cybersecurity Advisory (Alert Code AA23-144a) regarding the People’s Republic of China State-Sponsored Cyber Actor Living off the Land to Evade Detection (activity tracked as “Volt Typhoon”) and its relevance to the water and wastewater systems sector.
