Last week, CISA and the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) published a guidance bulletin, “Safeguarding our Critical Infrastructure: Vigilance Makes a Difference,” to highlight the growing threat of foreign intelligence services from hostile nation states to critical infrastructure personnel and operations. The purpose of the bulletin is to provide a brief overview of the threat and help infrastructure owners and operators with detection and mitigation efforts. WaterISAC has repeatedly warned of the increasing risk to critical infrastructure from hostile nation states as geopolitical tensions increase around the world.
