On Wednesday, an individual opened fire near a Duke Energy facility in South Carolina. The incident didn’t cause any damage or injuries and is still under investigation, but coming just days after the intentional attacks on electric substations in North Carolina that resulted in the loss of power for thousands it is feeding concerns those events may inspire copycat attacks. Additionally, in the days since the attacks others like it that occurred recently have come to light.
