EPA’s Creating Resilient Water Utilities (CRWU) program just published a new Adaptation Case Studies Map for Water Utilities, which allows users to explore resilience case studies from water sector utilities across the country.

“Many drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater (water sector) utilities across the United States are adapting to climate change by building resilience to potential future natural hazards and water management challenges,” according to EPA. “This map highlights stories from water utilities sharing their experiences and lessons learned with the goal of assisting other water sector utilities that are currently developing their own plans or responding to recent events.” On the map, users have access to over 60 CRWU case studies in one view and can click on each utility to access more detailed information about their climate resilience adaptation process. The new map also highlights case studies surrounding specific themes, such as infrastructure investment and environmental justice. Access the Case Studies Map at EPA.

The purpose of EPA’s CRWU program is to provide utilities with practical tools, training, and technical assistance needed to increase resilience to climate change. For more information and to access additional resources visit CRWU’s page here.
