(TLP:CLEAR) CISA’s Conflict Prevention Webinar Series – January and February 2026

TLP:CLEAR

Author: Alec Davison

Created: Tuesday, December 30, 2025 - 13:52

Categories: Federal & State Resources, Physical Security, Security Preparedness

Summary: In today’s heightened threat environment, socio-political grievances, financial troubles, or other triggers can motivate individuals to target infrastructure workers or facilities. To help mitigate potential violence, CISA offers a variety of free resources to educate employees with the skills they need to de-escalate hostile situations and help prevent violence.

Analyst Note: Water and wastewater utilities frequently experience threats of harm directed against their staff and assets, which WaterISAC tracks in its Quarterly Water Sector Incident Summary reports. Indeed, past security incidents at utilities have been successfully de-escalated by staff, highlighting the importance of training employees in de-escalation and conflict prevention. Utility owners and operators are encouraged to review CISA’s De-Escalation Series for Critical Infrastructure Owners and Operators.

Moreover, earlier this year, CISA started conducting a monthly webinar series on conflict prevention. The series consists of two webinars that occur at 1:30pm ET typically on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. The two webinars are briefly described below (for more information and for registration information please see the flyers attached below).
