Summary: Workplace violence remains an enduring threat to the water and wastewater sector. To help utilities manage this threat, FEMA has a free on-demand online training course on workplace security awareness.

Analyst Note: According to FEMA, this course provides guidance to individuals and organizations on how to improve security in the workplace. Employees are often the target of workplace security threats as well as the organization’s first line of defense against them. Every year organizations across the country experience violent incidents that profoundly impact employee safety, morale, and trust. Sometimes they even result in severe injury or death. Utilities are encouraged to have their employees take advantage of this free resource.
