(TLP:CLEAR) How IoT Security Cameras Are Susceptible to Cyber Attacks

TLP:CLEAR

Author: Chase Snow

Created: Thursday, May 22, 2025 - 15:13

Categories: Cybersecurity, Security Preparedness

Summary: Security cameras represent some of the most common IoT devices installed in business and commercial environments. The proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices – more specifically, security cameras – has forced organizations to rethink how they protect their physical hardware.

Analyst Note: The rise in IoT camera adoption contains a range of cybersecurity risks expanding an organization’s attack surface and risk exposure, creating new vulnerabilities that threat actors can and will exploit. Members are encouraged to review their organization’s IoT camera applications and configurations and mitigate this rising risk as much as possible.
