Spring Education Series on Hostile Event Preparedness

Risk management company Gate 15 is offering multiple webinar presentations on its Hostile Events Preparedness Series (HEPS) this spring. The three scheduled training sessions address baseline education on hostile events/active shooter, fire as a weapon (arson), and the hostile events attack cycle. The sessions are offered at no cost, and certificates of completion (which can be used to obtain credit) will be issued upon request. Gate 15 recommends that interested persons sign-up for all three sessions. The sessions can also be beneficial as single events.

During the first session, Education on Hostile Event Preparedness, participants will learn to recognize types of Hostile Events, to better prepare for and react to an event, identify the basics of an Emergency Action Plan (EAP), identify the components of a Hostile Event training and exercise program, and more. For the second session, Fire as a Weapon, participants will learn to recognize Fire as a Weapon hostile events, identify safeguards to prevent Fire as a Weapon attacks, take proper actions during a Fire as a Weapon hostile event, and more. Finally, during the third session, Hostile Event Attack Cycle (HEAC), participants will learn to identify indicators of potential violence, recognize the phases of a Hostile Event, provide mitigation strategies to help develop a training program, and more.
