The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is warning of catastrophic impacts from storm surge inundation and the potential for destructive life-threatening winds in the Big Bend region of Florida, where Hurricane Idalia is forecast to make landfall tomorrow morning. Additionally, the NHC forecasts other areas along or near Idalia’s path, which include other parts of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, should expect some storm surge and high winds as well as heavy rainfall that will lead to flash and urban flooding, some of which will be locally significant.

In preparation for Idalia and its anticipated impacts, FEMA and CISA will host a Cross-Sector Business and Infrastructure Partners Conference Call today, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm ET (details on the WaterISAC portal). FEMA has also activated its National Business Emergency Operations Center (NBEOC) Operations Dashboard to facilitate information sharing and collaboration and has shared a document containing information to help individuals and organizations prepare for Hurricane Idalia.
