WaterISAC’s first annual event – H2OSecCon – begins in just over a month! Day one of this three-day conference (November 15-17) begins with a keynote by Seamus Hughes, Deputy Director of the Program on Extremism at George Washington University. In addition to having authored numerous reports and a book and providing commentary for media publications, on multiple occasions WaterISAC has cited the works of Seamus and his colleagues on terrorism and extremism and the threats they pose to critical infrastructure. Day one will also feature two panels featuring experts discussing physical security threats as they pertain to critical infrastructure, and the water and wastewater sector in particular. During the first panel, they will provide an overview of the threats posed by different malicious actors, from extremists and terrorists to common criminals. The panelists for the following session will delve into the security solutions that can be implemented to address these threats and other challenges.
