The FBI published a TLP:GREEN Liaison Information Report (LIR) to inform private sector partners of recent smishing attempts (SMS phishing). The smishing activity involves sending text messages purporting to be from employees or company leadership to induce individuals to reveal personal information. Criminal threat actors conducting this scheme usually try to elicit financial information, personal identifiable information (PII), credentials, or details about an organization and/or its employees.
