Over the past few months, a series of attacks and acts of vandalism at electric substations across the U.S. have underscored the increasing threat to the power grid, and critical infrastructure more broadly, posed by a range of threat actors. In the first eight months of 2022, the U.S. electric grid was physically attacked 107 times, according to the U.S. General Accounting Office. The highest number of attacks in over a decade.
