This resource serves as an introduction to extreme weather event adaptation planning. Utilities can learn how to implement strategies to prepare for extreme weather events, to include generating a new Planning Worksheet that documents the resilience strategies relevant to them.
The Resilient Strategies Guide helps drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities progress through the resilience planning process, providing resources and suggestions to identify strategies that address their priorities and build resilience to current and potential hazards. The Guide provides a final report summarizing their results and a file that can be used in CREAT, where these results are inputs for their risk assessment.
The website EPA has set up for the Guide also includes a link to EPA’s Case Study and Information Exchange, where visitors can read about measures other utilities have employed to become resilient.
