Call For Presentations

All submissions due by Friday, August 4, 2023.

We are excited to announce the H2OSecCon call for presentations!  H2OSecCon 2023 is in its second year and will again be held virtually. The event will be held on October 19 and 20 from 10 AM - 5 PM ET

This conference aims to address the critical need for robust security measures in the water and wastewater industry and provide a platform for thought leaders, subject matter experts, and other industry stakeholders to share insights, best practices, and overall knowledge in the field of IT and OT cybersecurity, physical security, and resilience.

We invite you to contribute to the success of this year’s H2OSecCon by submitting a presentation proposal. All proposals should be curated to the water and/or wastewater sector. Feel free to review the H2OSecCon 2022 agenda below. Example topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities in water and wastewater systems.
  • Risk assessment and management for water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Strategies for securing critical infrastructure (physical or cyber).
  • Incident response and recovery plans for breaches (physical or cyber).
  • Real-life case studies on cybersecurity or physical security attacks with lessons learned.
  • Cybersecurity insurance for utilities.

All presentation submissions should be from a learning perspective and showcase innovative approaches, practical solutions, and findings in the realm of cybersecurity, resilience, and physical security. Whether you are an industry expert, researcher, or technology provider, we welcome your contribution to advancing security practices in the water and wastewater sector.

Presentation Format

  • Virtual presentation (most likely Zoom platform).
  • Sessions can be proposed for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour.
  • All sessions will be required to leave time for Q&A.
  • Sessions can include up to 3 panelists.

Submission Guidelines
To submit your presentation proposal, all submissions must include the following:

  • Session Title
    The catchier the better!
  • Abstract
Give us the deets! Summarize the premise, content, and objectives of your presentation in 300 words or less.
  • Session Takeaways
We want attendees to be able to walkway with actionable and/or new information from each session.  Please make sure to lay out a minimum of three takeaways from your presentation.
  • Main POC for the Session
This is the individual we will communicate with for any questions regarding the proposal itself.  If the proposal is accepted, we will open communication to other speakers or panelists if applicable.
  • Speaker or Panelist Details
This must include full names, titles, organization, and contact information. We understand this may change.

Proposals are highly encouraged to include WaterISAC members and clients, as those presentations and panels tend to have larger audiences and more engagement.

All submissions must be received by Friday, August 4.

If you have any questions regarding the process, please feel free to reach out via email at events@waterisac.org.
