The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), a close partner of WaterISAC, has issued a notification encouraging water and wastewater utilities and critical infrastructure owners and operators to review WaterISAC's recently released 15 Cybersecurity Fundamentals for Water and Wastewater Utilities. As discussed in the CISA notification, the guide includes cybersecurity best practices, grouped into 15 categories, to help utilities reduce exploitable weaknesses and attacks. Each recommendation is accompanied by links to corresponding technical resources, giving you the information and tools you need to take a dive deep into this acutely important issue. The original guide, first published in 2012, has been downloaded thousands of times. Read the notification at CISA.

For more on the 15 Cybersecurity Fundamentals, WaterISAC encourages members to view the recording and presentation from its June 2019 Cyber Threat Web Briefing. During that event, WaterISAC Cybersecurity Risk Analyst Jennifer Walker discussed each of the 15 fundamentals. Jennifer is the lead author of the document.
