National Preparedness Month Conclusion: Know How to Recover from Disasters

Author: Charles Egli

Categories: Emergency Response & Recovery, Federal & State Resources, Natural Disasters

As National Preparedness Month comes to a close, EPA emphasizes the importance of being prepared to recover from disasters. It highlights resources it has made available to help with this important step.

The resources include those from the Decontamination for Drinking Water and Wastewater Utilities and Fed FUNDS. As EPA notes, a utility can strengthen their recovery plans with their knowledge of federal disaster and mitigation funds like Fed FUNDS. EPA encourages utilities to utilize its Fed FUNDS resources to learn about success stories and funding options tailored to water and wastewater utilities. These utilities have shared their experiences and lessons learned with the goal of assisting other water sector utilities that are currently developing their own plans or responding to recent events.
