National Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2020 Kickoff

It’s October! And while many are thinking pumpkin spice and everything nice, in the cybersecurity realm October has become synonymous with National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM). But given cyber is a part of everyday life and a cost of doing business, NCSAM isn’t just for cybersecurity, it’s for everybody. Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility among all people. In fact, NCSAM was created to “ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online.” While the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) kicks off this year’s “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart” theme, WaterISAC is proud to be among fellow ISAC/ISAO NCSAM 2020 Champions –  Auto-ISAC, IT-ISAC, REN-ISAC, RH-ISAC, National Credit Union ISAO, CompTIA ISAO, and Faith-Based ISAO. For more on NCSAM and how to get involved, visit NCSA and CISA.

In light of NCSAM, we would like to have a little fun by inventing our own version with ‘15 Cybersecurity Fundamentals Awareness Month’ (15CFAM). 15CFAM is designed to bring greater awareness and reminders to some cybersecurity best practices that utilities should be focused on toward enhancing resilience for the water and wastewater sector. For more, access “15CFAM” and WaterISAC’s 15 Cybersecurity Fundamentals for Water and Wastewater Utilities.
