ICS Preparedness/Resilience – More on Following NERC Guidance, Even Though it’s Not Required

A prior post, Aspiring to CIP Compliance for Water and Wastewater Utilities, included in the Security & Resilience Update for May 6, 2021, discussed the familiarity that many water and wastewater utilities have with NERC CIP and its benefits across all critical infrastructure. NERC recently published ERO Enterprise CMEP Practice Guide: Network Monitoring Sensors, Centralized Collectors, and Information Sharing to assist critical infrastructure asset owners and operators with evaluating network monitoring technologies for use within their environments. The document is a practice guide to facilitate the deployment of network monitoring solutions in response to the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) 100-day ICS Cybersecurity Initiative (highlighted in the Security & Resilience Update for April 20, 2021). Read more at T&D World and access the attached practice guide below.
