FEMA Announces Weekly Themes for National Preparedness Month

FEMA’s Ready Campaign has unveiled the calendar for this year’s National Preparedness Month, presenting the weekly themes that will be featured next month. National Preparedness Month is recognized every September with changing themes each year based on current preparedness challenges and priorities. This year’s overall theme is “Prepare to Protect” and weekly sub-themes focus on tasks like making a plan, building emergency kits, and engaging in low-cost/no-cost preparedness. For each week FEMA offers information and other resources. While some of these are focused on individuals and families, FEMA often provides resources that can be used by businesses to help achieve their preparedness goals. WaterISAC will also identify some of these resources, including those that are specifically tailored to water and wastewater utilities. Access the calendar at FEMA.
