Water Sector Cyber Threat Web Briefing - CISA and Perch on Threats and Vulnerabilities for the Water and Wastewater Sector

Wednesday, March 23, 2022, 2:00 – 3:00 PM ET

Join WaterISAC’s Water Sector Cyber Threat Briefing on March 23, when it will be joined by its partners from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and Perch Security, a ConnectWise Solution. Both entities offer services to water and wastewater utilities, such as cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and network traffic and log monitoring.

The CISA briefers will provide their latest findings, analysis, and recommendations derived from trends observed among water and wastewater utilities subscribed to services provided by CISA (a full listing of these services is available here). This information will be an update to what CISA described in a WaterISAC briefing in November 2020 and a Water and Wastewater Systems Sector Cyber Risk Summary report it published in January 2021. CISA is planning to release the next version of this report in the coming months, and the CISA briefers will provide some preliminary insights into the report’s findings. The Perch briefer will provide a year-in-review of what his company observed in water and wastewater systems in 2021. This review will incorporate findings from the Perch overviews included in all of WaterISAC’s Quarterly Water Sector Incident Summary reports from the past year (available here) and offer additional insights into the sector’s threats and vulnerabilities. In partnership with WaterISAC since 2017, Perch’s SIEM monitors utilities’ IT and OT network traffic and logs.
