Water Sector Cyber Resilience Briefing – CISA’s No-Cost Cyber Vulnerability Scanning for Water Utilities, Tool Walkthrough and Member Testimonial
Wednesday, May 27, 2026, 2-3pm ET
On May 27 at 2 pm ET, WaterISAC will convene its monthly Water Sector Cyber Resilience Briefing webinar. In this month’s webinar, WaterISAC is pleased to invite CISA to present and showcase its no-cost Cyber Vulnerability Scanning tool and how water and wastewater utilities can use the service to better identify and manage cyber risk.
The webinar will begin with a high-level overview of how vulnerability scanning works and how organizations can use scanning to identify internet-accessible systems and potential security weaknesses before they are exploited by threat actors.
Speakers will then provide an overview of the current cyber threat landscape observed through scanning efforts across the water sector, including trends involving ransomware activity, malware, and vulnerabilities actively targeted by threat actors. The discussion will highlight common findings, exposure trends, and why continuous visibility into external-facing assets remains important for the water sector.
The event will conclude with a testimonial from a WaterISAC member utility sharing its experience using CISA’s vulnerability scanning service, including lessons learned and how the service supported the utility’s cybersecurity efforts.
Designed for water and wastewater utilities of all sizes, the briefing will help participants better understand how vulnerability scanning can support cyber risk reduction efforts and improve awareness of external-facing exposures across sector networks.
WaterISAC members only.
