CISA Releases the JCDC AI Cybersecurity Collaboration Playbook and Fact Sheet

Yesterday, CISA released the “JCDC AI Cybersecurity Collaboration Playbook and Fact Sheet” to enhance information sharing between the public and private sectors in response to AI-related cyber threats. Developed in conjunction with the FBI, NSA’s AI Security Center, and various industry partners including Google, IBM, and Microsoft, the playbook aims to create a “unified approach” to managing these threats.

The playbook focuses on collaboration among federal agencies, industries, and international stakeholders while also improving the resilience of AI systems. It outlines actionable information-sharing categories relevant to critical infrastructure and encourages organizations to adopt its guidance for enhancing their cybersecurity practices. Key elements include reporting procedures for cyber vulnerabilities and proactive sharing checklists.

As AI technologies continue to increasingly play a role in water utility operations, information sharing protocols such as this help facilitates collaboration with federal and industry partners, which will enhance your utility’s ability to address potential AI-driven attack vectors. Consider reviewing this playbook and fact sheet as you incorporate Fundamental 12: Participate in Information Sharing and Collaboration Communities from WaterISAC’s 12 Fundamentals for Water and Wastewater Utilities.
