Head of National Council of ISACs Articulates the Importance of Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Joining an Information Sharing Community

Its Fall, the leaves are changing color, and we continue our observance of Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This month is intended to engage and educate public and private-sector partners through events and initiatives with the goal of raising awareness about cybersecurity to increase the resiliency of the nation and the critical infrastructure that sustains our communities.

Denise Anderson, the head of the National Council of ISACs (NCI), and the President and CEO of the Health-ISAC has written a short piece recognizing Cybersecurity Awareness Month by encouraging all critical infrastructure organizations to join their respective ISACs to greatly increase the collective information sharing ability of the entire critical infrastructure community. Denise writes, “Imagine being able to share, connect, hear and learn from your peers in order to ensure vital operations remain resilient despite the threats. And partners of critical infrastructure, I encourage you to work with the ISACs and the NCI to realize scale, perspective and efficiency to ensure our nations have the functions that are so essential to their safety and security.” The post also explains what the NCI is and how the ISACs work together through the NCI to increase our collective strength.
