October marks the start of Fall, but for security professionals October is known for Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CSAM) – previously known as the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. The purpose of CSAM is to underscore the holistic societal responsibility all of us share in ensuring that our communities, organizations, and individuals are practicing proper cyber hygiene. Indeed, CSAM was designed to ensure “that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online.” The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in partnership with their co-sponsor the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) have designated each week in October with a special theme. WaterISAC is proud to be among fellow ISAC/ISAO and sector CSAM 2021 Champions. Check out CISA’s CSAM Kickoff, join in on the campaign, and grab the #BeCyberSmart resources to help spread the word! Plus, join us and fellow sector organizations – Charleston Water Systems, City of Garland – Water Utilities, San Antonio Water System, West Basin Municipal Water District, and (EPA) Water Security Division – and become a CSAM Champion today! For more on CSAM and how to get involved, visit NCSA and CISA.
