The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State, has just published A Guide to Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience, a document intended to serve as an overview of the approach to critical infrastructure and resilience adopted in the U.S. The intent of the guide is to share basic information and lessons learned from over the last 15 years. One of the approaches examined in the document is the Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) model, on page 10. Some of the other helpful sections in this document include an overview of threats and hazards to critical infrastructure, an outline of a basic security and resilience plan, and a discussion of the role of risk assessments. Each section of the guide provides additional resources for more detailed information on the specific topics covered.
