Kansas River Dye-Tracing Experiment Aims to Provide Critical Information to Assist Responses to Water Incidents

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) scientists and partners are conducting a unique study that involves injecting dye into the Kansas River, with the ultimate goal of providing information to assist in responses to potential critical events like harmful algal blooms and contaminant spills.

Michael Arceneaux Sets Off from WaterISAC

WaterISAC announces Michael Arceneaux’s departure to pursue other opportunities. Michael served as WaterISAC’s Managing Director since 2009.

FEMA Releases Updated Planning Guidance for Response to a Nuclear Detonation

FEMA’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Office, in conjunction with multiple federal agencies, has released the Third Edition of the Planning Guidance for Response to a Nuclear Detonation. The report is based on responding to a small nuclear detonation at ground level in an urban environment and provides education and context on the consequences of such an attack.

CISA Releases New Vehicle Ramming Self-Assessment Tool

This week, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released the Vehicle Ramming Self-Assessment Tool. CISA, in partnership with the Chicago Police Department, created this new tool to assist the law enforcement community and critical infrastructure stakeholders with planning considerations and protective measures associated with mitigating risk against a vehicle-ramming method of attack.
