Increasing Extreme Precipitation Events Heightens Flood Risk to Critical Infrastructure

Over the past few weeks, extreme precipitation events have occurred across the globe causing floods that have threatened human lives and critical infrastructure. As climate change increases the frequency of these events, critical infrastructure owners and operators should ensure their facilities are resilient to the growing flood risk.

September 14, 2023 WaterISAC Informational Webinar

WaterISAC held its quarterly Informational Webinar on Thursday, September 14. The webinar provided members and non-members a chance to meet the WaterISAC team and learn about how WaterISAC operates. Next, the webinar offered public policy updates relevant to the sector. WaterISAC staff also provided an overview of cyber and physical threats facing the sector. In addition, the WaterISAC team discussed member benefits, upcoming events, special programs, and tips and tricks on how to maximize the member portal.

DHS Releases 2024 Homeland Threat Assessment, Emphasizes Continued High Risk of Foreign and Domestic Terrorism

Today the U.S. Department of Homeland Security released its 2024 Homeland Threat Assessment (HTA), which identifies a continuing high risk of foreign and domestic terrorism in 2024. Going forward, DHS intends to release an annual HTA in place of regular National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) bulletins.
