Water Quality Surveillance and Response Program (US EPA)

U.S. EPA's Water Quality Surveillance and Response Program provides utilities with the resources to learn about, assess the feasibility of, and implement a surveillance and response system (SRS). An SRS provides a framework for enhancing distribution system monitoring capabilities to detect water quality issues and respond before they become problems.

EPA Water Security Initiative: Guidance for Building Laboratory Capabilities to Respond to Drinking Water Contamination

In March 2013, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released a document written for utilities developing a sampling and analysis program as part of a Contaminant Warning System but that may also be useful to utility partners such as public health, state, EPA regional, and commercial laboratories.
