The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has released National Emergency Communications Plan (NECP) Spotlight 1: Working with Tribes to Achieve Interoperability. It begins by noting that developing collaborative and trustworthy relationships between tribal communities and other local governments is key to advancing operable and interoperable communications. This is the first spotlight in a series designed to demonstrate how the NECP’s recommendations apply within real-world events. It provides the reader with relatable examples that tie to specific NECP goals and objectives, further emphasizing the relevance of the NECP and the need to implement the plan. CISA notes that the spotlights are a continual effort and will be developed quarterly over the next year. Access the document and associated materials, including the NECP, at CISA.
