This week, FEMA released a new resource guide intended to assist state, local, tribal, territorial, and other community stakeholders to most effectively utilize FEMA’s resources when building resilience and adapting to the impacts of climate change. The guide, FEMA Resources for Climate Resilience, offers resources to help communities identify and assess climate change risk, think about climate change during hazard mitigation planning, finance for mitigation and climate adaptation strategies, and improve community capacity to address climate risks, among others. “Building resilience is a long-term, ongoing cycle that requires multiple steps to accomplish,” according to FEMA. “Each section of the FEMA Resources for Climate Resilience corresponds with a step in that cycle,” and compliments the other. The guide also provides a link to FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program. Access FEMA’s new guide below.
