Review and Disable Unused Accounts

Dormant and unused accounts present an unnecessary security risk, particularly if they retain elevated privileges or belong to former employees and contractors. Water utilities should periodically review user accounts across IT and OT environments, disable accounts that are no longer needed, and promptly revoke access when personnel change roles or leave the organization.
