Summary: WaterISAC and EPA have released the latest quarterly edition of the National Security Information Sharing Bulletin (ISB), developed for water and wastewater utilities. Each issue focuses on key security and resilience topics, including cybersecurity, physical security, and natural disasters.
The heightened threat environment continues to drive an elevated operational risk to water and wastewater utilities across the all-hazards threat landscape, including cyber threats, physical security risks, and natural hazards. This issue highlights the ongoing threat of ransomware and the national security implications surrounding ransomware attacks. It also features an interview with Loudoun Water’s Director of Operational Technology and details EPA’s new Strengthening Water Infrastructure for Tomorrow (SWIFT) initiative.
The ISB is a joint effort by the EPA Office of National Security and WaterISAC, with support from the EPA Office of Water and the Water Sector Coordinating Council. It aims to raise awareness and promote security and preparedness across the water and wastewater sector.
