TLP:CLEAR

Author: Chase Snow

Created: Thursday, September 25, 2025 - 15:14

Categories: Cybersecurity, Federal & State Resources, Security Preparedness

Summary: The FBI recently released a Public Service Announcement (PSA) to warn that threat actors are spoofing the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) government website to conduct information theft and conduct impersonation scams. The PSA includes several recommendations to help individuals and organizations take precautions to avoid unknowingly visiting spoofed and malicious websites.

Analyst Note: Much of the PSA’s guidance is applicable to all internet users and employees and can enhance the security of any organization. WaterISAC encourages members to review the PSA, share it with employees, and incorporate it into security awareness trainings as appropriate.
