FEMA Hosts Webinar Series Connecting the Exercise Cycle and Continuous Improvement Process

Author: Alec Davison

Created: Tuesday, February 13, 2024 - 20:17

Categories: Federal & State Resources, Security Preparedness

FEMA will host a series of 60-minute webinar sessions this month designed to improve an organization’s approach to learning from exercises and past incidents. As WaterISAC frequently emphasizes, exercises are an important part of a preparedness program, helping organizations build, improve, and validate their incident response and recovery capabilities.

According to FEMA, the webinars will focus on the relationship between the exercise cycle and continuous improvement activities. They will equip attendees with the skills to use both HSEEP (FEMA’s Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program) and NCIG (FEMA’s National Continuous Improvement Guidance) to support an ongoing culture of learning. The webinars are geared for state, local, tribal, and territorial partners, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and other organizations involved in emergency management or engaged in continuous improvement efforts and exercise programs. Members can also utilize FEMA’s Exercise Starter Kits to help them develop and execute discussion-based tabletop exercises.
