The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) published the Personal Security Considerations fact sheet to assist personnel associated with ownership, operation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure by recommending basic security measures to reduce the threat of targeted violence. The U.S. continues to face a heightened and dynamic threat environment, with threat actors of all types espousing the desire to target critical infrastructure. Accordingly, the fact sheet details behavioral indicators and suspicious activity to be aware of to enable reporting and reducing the probability of becoming a victim of an attack.

The fact sheet also provides personal security measures for individuals to enhance their security. Some of the personal security measures include being aware of surroundings and nearby activities, limiting personal information sharing in digital platforms, having a cell phone to make emergency calls, and avoiding suspicious packages, among others. Ultimately, implementing these personal safety methods and monitoring for suspicious behavior can enhance the protection of critical infrastructure and mitigate threats to personal safety. Access the fact sheet below.
