Recommendations from State, Local, and Tribal Leaders to the President on Preparing the U.S. for the Impacts of Climate Change

The State, Local, and Tribal Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience has released a document of recommendations for how the Federal government can help prepare the U.S. for climate change. The formation of the Task Force was decreed in Executive Order 13653, Preparing the United States for the Impacts of Climate Change,which was released on November 1, 2013. The Executive Order mandated that the Task Force develop recommendations within one year to address issues associated with climate change. The Task Force’s recommendations are categorized into such areas as building resilient communities, improving resilience in the nation’s infrastructure, and supporting climate-smart hazard mitigation and disaster preparedness and recovery, among others.
