Yesterday, the National Security Agency (NSA) released Cybersecurity Advisory (CSA), Protecting VSAT Communications. VSAT (very small aperture terminal) networks are largely used for remote communications when other options are not feasible. The CSA aims to help organizations understand how communications may be at risk and provides recommendations for securing VSAT networks, including: encrypting all communications prior to transmitting across VSAT links, keeping hardware and firmware updated, and changing any default credentials before use. Visit NSA to access the full report.
